The impact grenade nozzle has springs that hold a needle. When the grenade hits the target, the springs contract, pushing the needle against a metal base and generating a spark. The spark ignites the detonator, which detonates the explosive material of the capsule. I believe that this is so, when I was in the military, I was a squad shooter, and I had no detailed instructions on the operation of the explosives
